TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin 2013

With TechCrunch Disrupt, Berlin will host one of the most anticipated technology conferences of the year and we're glad to be a part of it. The event will start with a Hackathon (yes, we'll provide our API) on October 26th/27th, followed by the conference on October 28th/29th. Speakers include Nathan Blecharczyk (Co-Founder & CTO, Airbnb), Shakil Khan (Head of Special Projects, Spotify), Alexander Ljung (Co-founder and CEO, Soundcloud), and Oliver Samwer (Co-founder, Rocket Internet).

Hack the watchmi API!

We will open our API for developers during the 24h Hackathon. The hacks will be evaluated by a panel of expert judges and audience members. The winning team will earn itself  $5,000 in cash, while the top three teams will present their results on the Disrupt stage to a dedicated audience. On top there'll be some cool API sponsor prizes and each team will receive two tickets to the Disrupt Conference. If this sounds good to you, you can register right away for the Hackathon - it's free!

The watchmi API offers a variety of tools that bring together viewers and and the content that interests them:

  • Electronic Program Guide and TV Search, including Primetime EPG, EPG by time, show details, list of channels
  • Editorial Recommendations
  • Social Discovery
  • Personalized TV Recommendations
  • Theme Channels
  • Branded Entertainment

Get a quick overview in our How to document, or a full description of the watchmi API features in our wiki.

If you have further questions, please get in touch with our developer Olcay Buyan who will also attend the Hackathon.

The Hackathon will take place at Arena, Eichenstraße 4, 12435 Berlin.
