/ CEBIT: WATCHMI WINS INNOVATION PRIZE

Yet another reason that watchmi likes CeBIT - they like us there too! The watchmi team is honored to have won the 2010 Innovationspreis-IT in the "On Demand" category. Our Managing Director, Ned Wiley, was at the ceremony in Hanover to receive the prize. The prize judges commended watchmi for being strongly innovative in its TV personalization system, by which viewers can create their own Personal TV channels.

Stephan Zech, Publishing Director of Program Guide and Women's Publications at Axel Springer AG, said: "We are delighted that the judges recognize the innovation that has gone into the development of watchmi. Customer focus enables us to anticipate the needs and desires of our consumers, and innovation leads to the development of attractive solutions in a constantly-changing environment. watchmi exemplifies the combination of these two key components in a product that addresses the challenge of finding and discovering content in today's digital media universe."

watchmi combines a sophisticated recommendations system that learns the viewing preferences of its users with editorially-enhanced program data from TV DIGITAL. Users can create "Personal TV channels" that automatically find programs that are of interest and record them for later viewing. watchmi learns user preferences based on viewing behavior, and suggests programs it thinks users may want to see.
